Okay, here is a blog post about my experience of purchasing and remaking the Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG:
I saw this YSL JUNE BOX BAG and I thought, “Wow, that’s a good-looking bag!” So, I went online to find out more about it. Then I found the official channel. It said that YSL was founded in 1961. That’s a long time ago!
I looked around and found some good deals on the bag. But then I thought, “What if I tried to remake it myself?” I mean, a remake is basically just copying something, right? I’ve seen people remake movies, TV shows, and even songs. Why not a bag?
So, I started by buying the real bag. I wanted to make sure I had a good reference point. It was a bit pricey, but I figured it was worth it. Plus, I could always resell it later if I wanted to.
Once I had the bag in my hands, I started taking it apart. I carefully examined each piece, taking notes and photos along the way. I wanted to understand how it was all put together.
- First, I removed the strap.
- Then, I took off the hardware.
- Finally, I carefully separated the leather panels.
Next, I started sourcing materials. I found some high-quality leather that was similar to the original. I also found some hardware that was a close match. It wasn’t easy, but I managed to find everything I needed.
Then came the hard part: putting it all back together. I followed my notes and photos, and slowly but surely, the bag started to take shape. It was a lot of work, but I was determined to get it right.
There were some tricky parts, like getting the stitching just right. But I kept practicing, and eventually, I got the hang of it. I used a sewing machine for some parts, and hand-stitched others. It was a real mix of techniques.
The Result
After many hours of work, I finally finished my remake of the YSL JUNE BOX BAG. And you know what? It turned out pretty darn good! It’s not exactly the same as the original, but it’s very close. I’m really proud of how it turned out.
This whole experience taught me a lot about bag making. It’s not as easy as it looks! But it’s also really rewarding to create something with your own hands. I might even try remaking other bags in the future. Who knows?
