Okay, so let’s talk about this little project I got into. It’s about making a copy of the Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG, the original order kind.
First off, I spent some time looking at the real deal. Went to a few stores, you know, just browsing. This bag, the YSL JUNE BOX BAG, it’s kinda boxy, not huge but big enough for your daily stuff, phone, wallet, keys, maybe a snack.
Then, I got down to business. Found some pretty good leather. It’s not the exact same as what YSL uses, but it’s close. I had to cut it up, real careful like, following the pattern I made from studying the original bag. Got some help from a buddy who’s good with this kinda thing. Teamwork, you know?
- Cut the leather
- Sew the pieces together
- Add the lining
Next up, the sewing part. Man, that took some time. Had to make sure the stitches were tight and neat, just like the real one. And the quilting, that diamond pattern thing? Tricky, but I think I nailed it. It’s all about the details, right?
After that, I put in the lining. It’s this soft fabric, feels pretty good. Not sure what YSL uses, but this one’s nice. Then came the hardware. The chain, the YSL logo, all that shiny stuff. Found some decent copies online. Not real gold, obviously, but they look the part.
The inside the bag? I tried to copy their label design and put a tag there, and I made it look old, just like how they do it.
Almost Done
Putting it all together was like doing a puzzle. Everything had to fit just right. And let me tell you, it wasn’t easy. But after a few tries, I got it. It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty darn close. If you’re not really into bags, you probably wouldn’t even know it’s a remake.
So there you have it. My little adventure in making a copy of the YSL JUNE BOX BAG. It was fun, it was challenging, and I learned a lot. Would I do it again? Maybe. But for now, I’m just gonna enjoy carrying this bag around, knowing I made it myself.
