So, I finally took the plunge and got myself an imitation of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph. Yeah, I know, it’s a mouthful, but this watch had been on my radar for a while, and I just couldn’t resist.

I started by doing a ton of research online. I spent hours scrolling through forums, looking for any info I could find about fake Reversos. I even stumbled upon a thread where someone mentioned a fake with the same reference number. It got me thinking about the risks involved, but I was determined to find a good one.

I eventually found a seller that seemed reputable. They had a bunch of pictures of the watch, and it looked pretty darn close to the real deal. The seller claimed it was from a “small unnamed factory” but initially, I thought it was ZF. This stainless steel duoface was calling my name, and at the price offered, it felt like a steal. I’d always dreamed of owning a Reverso, especially the tribute monoface small seconds in blue or green, but they’re so pricey, and I know they don’t really hold their value. But this one, this imitation, it was within reach.

I pulled the trigger and placed the order. The waiting was the hardest part, but it was better than waiting to save up for an original that would not retain its value anyway, right? It felt like forever, but finally, the package arrived. I ripped it open like a kid on Christmas morning. And there it was, in all its glory. I tried it on, turned my wrist in every angle to inspect my new watch, and it felt surprisingly good on my wrist.

I spent the next few days wearing it everywhere. I know, I know, I should probably be more careful with it, but I couldn’t help myself. I even wore it with jeans and sneakers, just to see how it looked. The Reverso is supposed to be a sports watch, but because it was made in the 30s, it gives off that gentleman vibe, you know? And surprisingly, it kinda worked! This imitation felt versatile enough to wear with anything.

Now, I’m not gonna lie, I was a bit nervous about people noticing it’s a fake. But honestly, nobody’s said a thing. Most people probably don’t even know what a real Jaeger-LeCoultre is. And those who do, well, they haven’t called me out on it. Yet, at least.

I’ve been wearing this imitation Reverso for a few weeks now, and I gotta say, I’m loving it. It’s a conversation starter, for sure. I’ve had a few people ask me about it, and I always get a kick out of telling them the story of how I got it. Most can’t believe it is not real, and I think it does look the part.

Overall, I’m really happy with my purchase. This imitation Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph is a great addition to my collection. It’s a reminder that you don’t always have to spend a fortune to get something you really want. Sometimes, a good imitation can be just as satisfying. Or even more, considering the price!
