Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this watch, right? It’s a remake of the Patek Philippe Calatrava 5227G-010. I saw this thing online and thought, “Why not give it a shot?” So, I got my hands on one.
First thing I did was just look at it. I mean, this thing looks pretty good for a remake. It’s got that classic look, you know? Shiny, 39 mm white gold case, and a black dial. It’s not too flashy, but it’s definitely noticeable. I started wearing it around, just to see how it felt. It’s comfortable, I’ll give it that. Not too heavy, sits nicely on the wrist.
Then, I wanted to see what makes it tick. Now, I’m no watch expert, but I know a bit. This one’s got that 324 S C movement, automatic, with a date function. I wound it up and watched it for a while. Seems to keep time just fine, and the date changes like it should. I even compared it to my other watches, just to be sure.
- Appearance: Pretty much spot on. It’s got the look of the original, that’s for sure.
- Feel: Good on the wrist. Not too heavy, not too light. Just right.
- Movement: Seems to work as it should. Keeps time, date changes, all that good stuff.
I wore it out a few times, you know, to the store, to meet up with friends. Nobody seemed to notice it was a remake, which is kind of the point, right? I even got a few compliments on it. People saying “Nice watch,” and all that. It felt good, I won’t lie.
Further Inspection:
After a few weeks, I took a closer look at the details. I noticed the finishing on the case is pretty decent. It’s polished well, no rough edges or anything. The dial is clean, the markers are all lined up. The hands are the right shape and size. I compared it to pictures of the original, and it’s really close. They did a good job copying it. This automatic date black dial watch’s date function works smoothly. Changing the date is easy, and it clicks over nicely at midnight. I checked the power reserve, too. It lasts as long as they say it does, around 45 hours or so. It’s got 29 jewels inside, and it’s made of 213 parts.
So, yeah, that’s my experience with this Patek Philippe Calatrava 5227G-010 remake. It’s a solid watch, especially for the price. It looks good, feels good, and seems to work just fine. If you’re looking for that classic Patek Philippe style without spending a fortune, this might be a good option. It’s not the real deal, but it’s a pretty darn good copy. I am happy I got it in 2025, with the original box and papers. Of course, I know it’s not a real Patek Philippe, and I’m not trying to fool anyone. But for me, it’s a nice watch to wear, and I enjoy having it in my collection.
