Alright, so I recently got my hands on a Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Monoface. I’ve been eyeing this piece for a while, and let me tell you, it was quite the journey.
It all started with me just browsing around online, you know, window shopping for watches like I always do. I stumbled upon some listings for the Reverso on different sites, saw some pretty pictures, and thought, “Man, that green dial is something else.” Then I saw the prices. Let’s just say they weren’t exactly pocket change.
I started digging deeper, checking out forums, watching some videos, just trying to learn everything I could about this watch. I mean, if I’m gonna drop some serious cash on this thing, I need to know what I’m getting into, right?
Then came the fun part – the hunt. I looked everywhere. I mean everywhere. I found a bunch of listings, some new, some used. I saw prices all over the place, but that green one, man, it was calling my name. I saw one in particular that was “brand new, unworn,” and the price was, well, let’s just say it made me think long and hard.
I decided to sleep on it. You know, not make any rash decisions. But the next morning, I woke up, and that watch was still on my mind. I reached out to the guy who was selling it, and we chatted for a bit. After a few days of hemming and hawing, I finally pulled the trigger.
The wait was killer. Every day felt like a year. Finally, the day came. I got the package, ripped it open, and there it was. Beautiful. That green dial, the classic Reverso case, everything was just perfect.
Here are the things that I did to finally get it:
- Browsed online listings: Just looking at pictures and getting a feel for the watch.
- Did some research: Reading articles, forum posts, watching videos – the whole nine yards.
- Contacted sellers: Reached out to folks selling the watch to get more info and negotiate.
- Made the purchase: Took the plunge and finally bought the darn thing.
- Waited (im)patiently: The hardest part, waiting for it to arrive.
Now, I’ve got this beauty on my wrist, and I couldn’t be happier. It’s a classic piece. It feels amazing. It looks great with pretty much anything you wear. Was it worth the effort? Absolutely. Would I do it all over again? In a heartbeat.
So that’s my story. It wasn’t easy, but man, was it worth it. If you’re thinking about getting one of these, just be prepared for a bit of a journey. But trust me, it’s a journey worth taking.
By the way, in the process of looking at the various prices, I saw that there are other colors. I saw that the steel Reverso Tribute Monoface in silver or blue was going for around $8,900, while a pink gold Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds was around $25,500. Just a heads-up for anyone who might be interested!
